The City celebrates Birthday of Japanese Emperor

(HUFO) On December 11th, the HCMC Union of Friendship Organizations (HUFO) and Vietnam – Japan Friendship Association (HCMC VJFA) held a ceremony in celebration of Japanese Emperor’s Birthday and National Day (23/12/1933 – 23/12/2014).


Delivering his speech at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Cong Tanh, Chairman of the HCMC Vietnam – Japan Friendship Association, on behalf of HCMC people, extended the warm congratulations to Japanese people on this special occasion. In recent years, the Vietnam – Japan friendship and cooperation have been developing in all fields and lifted to “Extensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia”.



The investment of Japanese enterprises in HCMC is about 300 million USD in 2014, accounting for 1/10 of the foreign direct investment (FDI).  In the fields of culture and education, Japan offers great support to Vietnamese students who have aspirations to study in Japan. In addition, there are many Japanese language centers in HCMC that meet the needs of Vietnamese young people.



Mr. Nakajima Satoshi, Japanese Consul General in HCMC, thanked HUFO and HCMC VJFA for holding this event, which highlighted the good friendship between two countries. While the world situation is getting complicated, the developing friendship between Vietnam and Japan will contribute to the peace and stability in the region and over the world. Through those events held by HUFO and HCMC VJFA, he hoped that HCMC people would understand more about Japanese culture and be interested in it.

On this occasion, the HCMC VJFA decided to establish one more branch that was Coupii Volunteer Group, increasing the total number to 21 branches./.
